SCREENING & AWARDS CEREMONY

The Rooted Film Festival, founded and produced by filmmaker Julian Maya, brings the community together through the power of film to celebrate culture, identity, family, and the many voices that shape who we are and where we come from; high school filmmakers from Southern California create short films inspired by the prompt β€œAlways remembering where it all began,” culminating in a public screening of their work and an awards ceremony honoring our Rooted storyteller winners, and we invite the community to join us in uplifting their storytelling and celebrating these young filmmakers.
